A liquidis removed from a vat（おけ） whose temperature is held at a constant 2000 F. After 3.5 minutes in a room whose ambient（周囲の） temperature is held at 700 F, the liquid temperature has cooled to 1700 F. The liquid can be tested when its temperature has cooled to 1000 F. How many minutes (correct to the nearest tenth of a minute) after the sample is removed from the vat will it first be ready for testing?
